Maersk Training boasts a team of experienced and certified instructors with extensive knowledge of offshore wind operations. Training facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and simulators, providing a realistic training environment.
Upon successful completion of the GWO Training Course Package, participants will receive internationally recognized certifications, verifying their competence and readiness to contribute to the success of offshore wind projects.
Upon enrollment, all registrants must provide proof of current GWO Work at Height and a certificate and/or WINDA ID number, failure to do so will invalidate your enrolment, and you will be required to register for another course date.
Additional course prerequisites/ requirements include the following:
The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Course is a foundational program designed to provide participants with the essential safety knowledge and skills required for working in the wind energy industry. The GWO BST course includes modules on First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, and Sea Survival. These modules equip participants with the competencies necessary to handle emergencies, mitigate risks, and maintain safety in wind turbine settings.
This First Aid course is structured to provide course participants with the minimum level of first aid training required for the work place.
The course covers the following 4 modules:
Explore advanced sea survival techniques, emergency response strategies, and maritime safety protocols in our GWO Sea Survival Course. Gain hands-on experience to navigate and respond effectively in diverse maritime scenarios. Certification validates readiness for the challenges of offshore work, making you a valuable asset in the evolving offshore wind industry. Elevate your safety and survival skills with Maersk Training.
This course is designed in conjunction with the GWO standards to ensure that you can demonstrate knowledge of how fire develops and spreads and provide you with the knowledge you need to help you decide what the correct actions are when discovering a fire.
The GWO BST Refresher renews essential safety skills for wind energy professionals. Required every two years, this course ensures compliance with industry standards for both onshore and offshore environments.
The refresher covers critical safety modules:
With realistic simulations and practical exercises, participants stay up-to-date on best practices, new equipment, and safety procedures. By the end, you'll reinforce key skills like CPR, fire response, and safe evacuation techniques, equipping you to handle real-life emergencies in wind turbine settings.
The GWO Fire Awareness course is designed to equip personnel in the wind industry with essential knowledge and skills to prevent fires, assess fire situations, and execute appropriate emergency responses. This training ensures participants can identify fire hazards, understand fire development, and effectively use firefighting equipment, thereby enhancing safety in wind turbine environments. Key skills gained include:
The purpose of the GWO Working at Height and Manual Handling Combined course is to ensure the safety and preparedness of individuals working in wind energy environments. This training equips participants with essential skills to safely perform tasks at height and handle equipment manually, following industry best practices. By combining these modules, the course provides a holistic approach to risk management, ensuring participants are fully competent in addressing the specific challenges encountered in wind turbine operations.
The GWO Sea Survival Refresher course is designed to renew and enhance the skills and knowledge of personnel in the wind industry, ensuring they can act safely and take appropriate preventive actions during offshore operations.
